In response to the growing social problems of our economy affected by the global financial and economic crisis that led to a significant increase in unemployment and the inability of whole households to pay their consumer credit , the Association for consumer protection undertook a study of the correlation of the General Conditions of several credit institutions with the Consumer Credit Act and the Consumer Protection Act.
As a result of ascertained unfair terms in the General Conditions of Eurobank EFG JSC and ProCredit Bank Bulgaria JSC, the Association sent a signal to the Commission for Consumer Protection, from where we were informed that they have found a clause about the change of the interest rate of consumer loans already granted which is unfair to the General Conditions of Eurobank EFG Bulgaria JSC as a check has not been completed yet.
